ABOUT NATHANIEL GREY
I come from a creative family from way back as far as Francis Greenway (the infamous convict architect/forger).
I started out building skate ramps in my teens, then studied fashion design in the UK and had my own clothing label in the nineties.
When I came to Australia in 2000, I fell into furniture building by accident. A friend asked me to build a bookshelf, then a desk, then a daybed. I liked working with wood so much so I spread the word and pretty soon I was building furniture full time.
Surfing is very much part of my lifestyle too, so the natural progression was to start building my own hollow wooden surfboards. I also love when I can combine some of my board building techniques and curves into my furniture designs.
